Event Demo Sewing Machines | Open-Box Deals

Straight from our own event center. Every machine here was used for one two-day bag-making class taught by Chris Murphy of Simply Classic at the ThreadWorks event center, then repacked in its original Janome carton. Each was out of its box for less than 72 hours. They're like-new in appearance, sold honestly as used open-box machines, with the full Janome manufacturer warranty. We document the condition and accessories of every unit, there are five of each model, and each one is offered only after it passes inspection.

Which open-box machine is right for you?

New list prices are Janome's published prices for new machines. The HD9QC, HD9 V3 and HD8 sew straight stitch only; for zigzag, decorative stitches and buttonholes, choose the M8.

What "Event Demo" means at ThreadWorks

• Used only at our own events. Each listing names the event and how long the machine was out of its box.
• Sold as used, never as new. These machines are listed apart from our new machines and marked used everywhere we sell them, including in Google Shopping.
• Inspected one by one. Before a machine is offered, we record its serial number, sew-test it, clean it, check its accessories against Janome's list and photograph its condition.
• Full manufacturer warranty. These classroom machines have never been registered to a retail owner, and the full Janome warranty is included.

Event Demo questions

Is an Event Demo machine new?
No. It was unboxed and sewn on at a ThreadWorks class. We sell it as used, with its history on the listing.

How is this different from refurbished?
Refurbished machines usually come back from previous owners and are repaired. Event Demo machines have only been used at our own events, and they're inspected rather than rebuilt.

Why only five of each?
Five of each model were used in the class. Any unit that doesn't pass inspection isn't offered here.

Will there be more?
Our event center hosts classes throughout the year. New Event Demo machines are added to this page as each batch is inspected.
