Which Juki serger is best for beginners?

The MO-654DE is the most common first Juki serger: 2/3/4-thread, differential feed and rolled hem at the lowest price. If threading intimidates you, the air-threading MO-1000 is easier to live with.

What is differential feed on a serger?

Two sets of feed dogs move the fabric at adjustable speeds relative to each other, which prevents knits from stretching into wavy seams and lets you gather lightweight fabrics. Every Juki serger on this page has it.
