SINGER HD0400S · HEAVY DUTY SERGER
Give every seam a finish you are proud to show.
Beautiful sewing should look good on the inside, too. The SINGER HD0400S Heavy Duty Serger combines sewing, edge trimming and seam finishing in one pass, with 2-, 3- and 4-thread options for a range of garment and decorative techniques. Add adjustable differential feed and up to 1,300 stitches per minute, and you have a dedicated partner for the finishing work that brings a project together.

Turn raw edges into part of the finished garment
From the inside of a handmade top to the edge of a home décor project, the HD0400S helps you move from construction to a neat finish. Its six stitch types support seam work, raw-edge finishing, rolled hems, blind hems and flatlocking with the appropriate setup. Sewing and trimming together can save an extra step along the way.
Give stretch and lightweight fabrics the attention they need
Adjustable differential feed changes how fabric moves beneath the foot, helping you address stretching in knits or puckering in lighter materials. It gives you a useful adjustment when the fabric changes, rather than asking one feed setting to handle every project.
Heavy Duty details where the work happens
The metal interior frame provides support while you sew, and SINGER specifies a cutting knife 60% larger than those on its other sergers. Move the upper knife out of the way for techniques that do not call for trimming. Color-coded threading paths, an on-machine diagram, two LED lights and a free arm support the day-to-day sewing experience.

Your questions, answered
Does the HD0400S replace my regular sewing machine?
It complements one. Use the serger for seam construction and edge finishes, and keep your regular machine for tasks such as zipper insertion, buttonholes and many topstitching jobs.
Can it sew without trimming the edge?
Yes. The upper knife can be moved out of the way when your technique calls for sewing without trimming.
Is this a coverstitch machine?
No. The HD0400S is a 2/3/4-thread overlock serger.
Where are the included accessories packed?
Check the storage area at the front of the machine when unpacking.
