The 15.25 x 10-inch surface gives more fabric a level place to rest beside the needle. Supporting that weight helps you concentrate on guiding the seam instead of holding up fabric that hangs off the machine bed.

Slide the table around the exposed free arm when you want extra support, then remove it when a smaller tubular piece needs closer access. Folding legs make the table easier to put away between larger projects.
