Piecing 60-degree shapes is a staple of modern and traditional quilting, but standard equilateral triangle rulers often lack the versatility needed for complex patterns. The Creative Grids® Half-Sixty Triangle Quilt Ruler is a uniquely designed, powerhouse tool that lets you cut both 60-degree triangles and their 30-degree counterparts with a single template. By combining two essential angles in one compact, easy-to-use acrylic tool, this ruler streamlines your cutting process and ensures perfect mathematical alignment for complex geometric quilts. Paired with the signature Creative Grids non-slip grip, this ruler stays anchored to your fabric, turning intimidating geometric piecing into a fast, stress-free experience.
Dual-Angle Versatility: Expertly crafted to cut both 60-degree triangles and 30-degree wedges, offering double the utility of a standard equilateral ruler.
Exclusive Non-Slip Perimeter: The outer edges are lined with patented translucent grip material that locks onto fabric the moment you apply downward pressure, preventing cutter slips.
Built-in Seam Allowances: Engineered with precise 1/4-inch dashed seam allowance markings on both sides of the vertical center line, so your shapes are always the correct finished size.
Fussy Cutting Target: The clearly marked vertical center line allows you to perfectly center fabric stripes or motifs, making it easy to create vibrant, kaleidoscopic effects.
High-Visibility Grid: Crisp black and white dashed markings make it effortless to align the ruler on light, dark, and highly patterned fabrics.
Durable Acrylic Construction: Machined from high-grade, warp-resistant acrylic that is built to withstand years of heavy rotary cutting.
Customers love the Half-Sixty Triangle because it solves the "ruler clutter" problem. Instead of carrying two separate templates to a class, you have one tool that handles both 60-degree and 30-degree cuts. Quilters rave about the ability to cut half-triangles (30-degree units) that already include the seam allowance, which is a major time-saver for patterns like the "Star of Bethlehem" or "Lone Star." The non-slip backing is a favorite for those working with slippery rayon or thin cottons, as it provides the stability needed to ensure those sharp, precision-cut points don't shift under the blade.
Complex Star Patterns: The essential tool for cutting the 60-degree and 30-degree units required for Lone Star, Star of Bethlehem, and other intricate geometric designs.
Hexagon & Diamond Piecing: Quickly slice the exact triangles needed to build hexagons or 3D tumbling block layouts.
Fussy Cutting Enthusiasts: Use the vertical center line to mirror and match fabric patterns for stunning, professional-level effects.
Efficient Strip Cutting: Perfect for turning standard fabric strips into dozens of uniform, precise triangles in record time.

Does this cut full triangles or just halves? You can do both! It is designed to cut full 60-degree triangles, and the clearly marked 1/4-inch seam allowances on the vertical center axis make it incredibly easy to cut 30-degree triangles (half-units) for complex star patterns.
Is the seam allowance included? Yes. The 1/4-inch seam allowance is factored into all markings. When you align your fabric with the printed guide lines, your cut piece will be the perfect size for standard 1/4-inch piecing.
Will the ruler slide while I am making multiple cuts? Not at all. The patented Creative Grids non-slip grip is integrated along the outer edges of the ruler. Applying light downward pressure with your hand anchors the acrylic to the fabric, ensuring it remains stationary during your entire rotary cut.
