Are you struggling to piece large circular quilt designs and wedges without ending up with bulky centers and mismatched seams? The Creative Grids® 30 Degree Triangle Quilt Ruler takes the mathematical guesswork completely out of cutting complex radial patterns. This massive, 19-1/2 inch tall template is engineered to help you effortlessly construct flawless full circles, fans, and oversized Dresden Plates up to a 38-inch finished size. Whether you are fussy cutting continuous stripes or slicing traditional wedges, this ruler does it all. Featuring the patented Creative Grids non-slip backing and high-visibility markings, it provides the ultimate slip-free stability to ensure your angles are mathematically perfect every single time.
Complete Circle Construction: Designed with perfect 30-degree angles, meaning exactly 12 triangles form a complete circle, 6 form a half-circle, and 3 form a quarter-circle.
Oversized Design Capabilities: The extra-tall 19-1/2 inch height allows you to piece massive circular designs and Dresden Plates up to a 38-inch finished size.
Exclusive Non-Slip Grip: The back is heavily treated with the signature Creative Grids translucent grip coating, grabbing your fabric securely when downward pressure is applied to eliminate slipped cuts.
Fussy Cutting Guidelines: A clearly marked vertical center line allows you to easily fussy cut striped fabrics or slice half-triangles with the exact 1/4-inch seam allowance already included.
Multi-Angle Markings: In addition to the primary 30-degree shape, the acrylic features clearly printed 45-degree and 60-degree intersecting lines for maximum versatility.
High-Visibility Grid: Crisp black and white dashed markings make it effortless to align your ruler precisely on both solid light cottons and busy dark prints.
Customers absolutely love this ruler because it completely solves the pain point of wonky, dome-shaped circles. When cutting wedges by hand or using flimsy paper templates, even a millimeter of error per cut multiplies across 12 pieces, resulting in a quilt block that simply won't lay flat. Quilters rave about the rigid accuracy of the CGRSG1 and the security of the non-slip grip, which prevents the acrylic from shifting during long 19-inch cuts. It is widely considered an absolute must-have "workhorse" ruler for anyone designing large sunbursts, fans, or circular medallion centerpieces.
Medallion & Fan Quilters: The ultimate tool for piecing massive, show-stopping Dresden Plates, circular sunbursts, and fan blocks.
Fussy Cutting Enthusiasts: The vertical guidelines make it incredibly simple to mirror fabric prints and create stunning kaleidoscopic effects.
Large-Scale Projects: Ideal for makers working on king-sized quilts or large table toppers where oversized wedge templates are required.
Companion Cutting: Works beautifully as a companion tool alongside the Creative Grids Circle Savvy Ruler (CGRSAV1) for complex curved designs.

How many triangles do I need to cut to make a full circle? Because this ruler creates a perfect 30-degree angle, you will need to cut exactly 12 triangles to sew together a complete, flat circle.
Does this ruler include the seam allowance? Yes! The ruler is strategically designed with the 1/4-inch seam allowance built into the measurements. The vertical center line also features a 1/4-inch dashed line on each side so you can easily cut half-triangles with the seam allowance included.
Is this ruler too big for a standard cutting mat? It measures 19-1/2 inches tall, so you will need at least a standard 18" x 24" rotary cutting mat to comfortably slice the largest possible wedges.
Will the ruler slide around while I make such a long cut? Not at all. The entire back features the patented Creative Grids non-slip grip. Simply apply firm, even downward pressure with your non-cutting hand, and the grip will securely lock the acrylic to your fabric.
