Stop drawing tedious single lines and struggling with inaccurate diagonal seams. The Creative Grids® 15" Seam Guide Tool is a simple yet revolutionary notion for any quilter who regularly pieces half-square triangles, flying geese, or snowball blocks. Measuring a generous 15 inches long, this tool easily spans across standard 10-inch pre-cuts and large quilt blocks. It is engineered to be exactly 1/2-inch wide with a dashed center line. By simply aligning the center dash from corner to corner on your fabric, you can instantly mark two perfect 1/4-inch sewing lines on either side with just one placement. Backed by the patented Creative Grids non-slip grip, this guide locks onto your fabric, ensuring your marked lines are perfectly straight and your blocks turn out beautifully square.
Perfect 1/2-Inch Width: Designed to be exactly 1/2-inch wide so you can mark a 1/4-inch seam allowance on both sides of a diagonal center line simultaneously.
Center Alignment Line: Features a crisp, dashed center line that allows you to easily align the tool directly over the corner-to-corner diagonal of your fabric squares.
15-Inch Length: The generous 15-inch size easily reaches from corner to corner on standard 10-inch pre-cut squares (layer cakes) and larger patchwork blocks.
Exclusive Non-Slip Grip: The back is coated with the signature Creative Grids translucent grip, grabbing the fabric securely to prevent slipping while you apply pressure with a marking pen.
High-Visibility Markings: Printed with clear black and white graphics that stand out effortlessly on light fabrics, dark solids, and busy prints.
Durable Acrylic: Machined from high-grade, durable acrylic that won't chip or warp, ensuring a perfectly straight edge for years of quilting.
Customers rave about this tool because it literally cuts their fabric marking time in half. Instead of trying to mark a center line and then carefully measuring out 1/4-inch on each side, you just line up the center dashed line with your block's corners and draw along both outside edges. Quilters particularly love the 15-inch length because it perfectly accommodates 10-inch layer cake squares without coming up short. The non-slip grip is a massive favorite because standard rulers tend to slide when hit with a fabric pen, causing crooked seams and wonky half-square triangles.
Half-Square Triangles: The absolute best tool for marking quick, incredibly accurate sewing lines for HSTs.
Pre-Cut Enthusiasts: Perfectly sized to span the diagonal of 10-inch fabric squares (layer cakes) with room to spare.
Flying Geese & Snowballs: Ideal for accurately marking the stitch lines on corner triangles for stitch-and-flip techniques.
Beginner Quilters: Takes all the guesswork and math out of finding the exact 1/4-inch seam allowance on diagonals.

How do I use this tool to make half-square triangles? Simply align the dashed center line of the tool from corner to corner on the wrong side of your fabric square. Draw a line along both outer edges of the acrylic tool. You now have two perfectly spaced 1/4-inch sewing lines! Stitch directly on those lines and cut down the middle to reveal two perfect HSTs.
Will this fit across a 10-inch layer cake square? Yes! The diagonal of a 10-inch square is approximately 14.1 inches, making this 15-inch seam guide the perfect length to reach from corner to corner without coming up short.
Does it have the non-slip grip on the back? Yes, like all Creative Grids rulers, it features the exclusive non-slip grip coating that holds the fabric in place when slight downward pressure is applied, keeping your marking pen from pushing the ruler out of alignment.
